About the procedure
With two options and techniques, PDO and PCL, treatment at Blossom Clinic is tailored to your specific facial aesthetic goals. In either treatment, as sutures are placed below the skin’s surface, the body elicits a natural inflammatory and healing response by stimulating the production of collagen. PCL has the added benefit of a considerably longer activity span. Essentially, the newly formed collagen secures the lifting of the skin, and continues to produce results over time.

Questions & Answers
HOW IT WORKS
Suture-like barbed threads are inserted under the skin with a needle, then the threads are pulled to tighten sagging skin, while simultaneously stimulating collagen growth. The threads (absorbable sutures) are then metabolized and absorbed by the body over time, but will leave newly produced collagen for up to three years.

FACE
What is PDO & PCL
Polydioxanone (PDO): Most commonly used for stitching suture in surgeries. With the threads complete dissolved and absorbed by the skin it helps to stimulate the production and synthesis of collagen in the skin. The functions of PDO has been known to cause changes in the dermis.
Polycaprolactone (PCL): Although not as commonly used PCL is known to be very potent at stimulating collagen production. Once dissolved, the material breaks down into nontoxic ordinary substances and even after the thread has dissolved, collagen production can last for up to one year. AM I SUITABLE
Most individuals hoping to have an overall improvement of the face without invasive surgery are suitable, however it is important to have realistic expectations. There is a skin age limit for effective results. We would like to invite you for an obligation free consultation and assessment. Prevention is the best anti-aging weapon. Apart from a good regular skin care regimen, small preventative treatments starting before wrinkles and crease lines start forming permanently will relieve stress on your skin throughout the aging process and keep you looking younger longer with a lower skin upkeep costs over the years. |
